After the Japanese bombed Pearl Harbor, everyday life changed drastically; when the United States entered the War in Europe it changed even further. This presentation is focused on the effects of the war on daily life in New York City during and after the war. Dr. Lubrecht will present an overview of his early years in a German American Jewish neighborhood named “Frankfurt on the Hudson” in Inwood and Washington Heights on Manhattan’s Upper West Side.
