Travels with the General and Lady Washington in the New Jersey Environs

During the American Revolution New Jersey was often called the “Squeeze State.” Most of the Battlegrounds were spread across the newly born Garden State. George Washington galloped close to 5500 miles on horseback. Martha Washington commuted every winter to be with her husband in Morristown, Valley Forge, and Somerset County. She traveled ,often with an entourage by carriage.

This presentation will cover their journeys and adventures to Newark, Spanktown, Quibbletown, Paulus Hook, and Boiling Springs, New Jersey.

This event is being held at Riverwalk Village at House of the Good Shepherd and on Zoom.
