Account
To view what you have checked out or for more information about your holds, you can log into your account on our catalog. You can even make your own lists of to-be-read titles and turn on your reading history so you can see what you have already checked out by your favorite authors.
Log in below using your library card number and password (likely the last 5 digits of your phone number)

Requesting Items
You may place a request for library items directly through our online catalog or via our app. To view your library account, please access our online catalog here.
- Click on the “Sign In” link found on the top right hand corner.
- Enter your barcode number from your library card and your password (likely the last 5 digits of your phone number) then click on “Sign In”.
- Search for the item you want to request using the search box in the top middle of the screen. Do this by entering your search term (Title or Author or Subject, etc.).
- Click on magnifying glass icon or press “enter” on your keyboard.
- The results of your search will now be displayed. Scroll down to choose the item you want.
- To reserve an item on this list, click on the blue “Place Hold” button next to the format you desire (book, audiobook, ebook, etc.).
- A message box will appear to verify the item you wish to reserve. Make sure that “Hackettstown Library” is your pickup location. Click on the “Submit Hold Request” Button.
- To view the list of your reserves, click on your name at the top right corner of the screen. A dropdown menu will appear. Click on “Titles on Hold.”
Online Renewals
To view your library account, please access our online catalog here. For renewing books:
- Click on the “Sign In” link found on the top right hand corner.
- Enter your barcode number from your library card and your password (likely the last 5 digits of your phone number) then click on “Sign In”.
- Once you are logged in, the “Your Account” page will display. It will list the number of items you have checked out, overdue, on hold, and ready for pickup.
- Click on the “Checked out titles” link.
- Click the blue “Renew” button next to any items you’d like to renew. The system will prevent you from taking action on any item that is unable to be renewed.
- Please note: Items may be renewed twice only. An item will not renew if it is currently on hold for another patron.
Interlibrary Loan

Please search the Main Library Alliance Catalog before requesting items through JerseyCat. JerseyCat should only be used if the items that you are looking for are not found in the Main Library Alliance Catalog.
Please follow all instructions, including entering your name, telephone number and library card barcode number on the JerseyCat request form.
Instructions for Placing a Request through Jerseycat
- Click on JerseyCat
- Enter an author, title, subject, or other keyword(s) in the search box and click the “Search” button. Other search options may be found in the navigation bar at the top of the page.
- Your search results will be displayed. Click on the highest number found in the “Results” column. A list for that particular library catalog will be displayed.
- Click on the title that you are looking for (choose one that has a high number of locations).
- Click on the “Request This Item” button. The “ILL Request Form” will be displayed.
- Scroll down the page and enter the information that is requested: -PATRON NAME: Your last name, first name.-CREATE A PASSWORD: Choose and remember one of your own.-LIBRARY CARD NUMBER: Barcode number found on the back of your library card.-PHONE NUMBER-FAX (optional)-EMAIL (optional)
- Click the “Submit” button.
- The “ILL Request Result” page will now be displayed, click “Close”
