The Hackettstown Free Public Library belongs to the people of our wonderful community. We are supported by tax funds but some of our citizens may look for other ways to contribute and support the library. From employment and volunteering to donations and gifts, there are plenty of ways for you to make a difference.

The Hackettstown Free Public Library occasionally has positions open on its staff and we look for local people to fill those roles. All available job postings will be listed here, as well as jobs from around the Main Library Alliance.

The Friends organization is a nonprofit and charitable 501(c)3 corporation.  Our mission is dedication to lending support to the Board of Trustees of the library and their ongoing endeavors to provide high quality library services and materials to the community.

The Hackettstown Free Public Library welcomes volunteers. Volunteers support the work of library staff or are assigned to work on special projects. Volunteers are accepted based on their qualifications in relation to the needs of the library and on their ability to commit to a consistent schedule of volunteer hours. Volunteers must be fifteen (15) years of age or older, except in special circumstances.

The library accepts donations of books and other library materials in good condition with the understanding that they will not necessarily be added to the library’s collection.  Monetary gifts may be designated as memorials or given in honor of individuals or special occasions.

We welcome recommendations from the Hackettstown community for book and movie purchases.  Also, your family has the opportunity to sponsor a book in the library’s Children’s collection!  Choose a book from our Amazon wish list to donate to the library.
