Embark on an inner journey of listening guided by sound, frequency, and vibration. Learn the art of deep listening as a function of focus and feeling. Enter a sanctuary of sound. The most basic concept of meditation is to listen. The use of sound and music for active listening can provide individuals with means to access deeper states of relaxation and heightened levels of conscious awareness. Playing an array of meditative acoustic instruments with the intention of creating an immersive experience of sound, this event will bring greater awareness to the effects of sound and music on body, mind, and spirit. Participants will be instructed to listen not only with their ears, but as an embodied experience as they are bathed in different qualities of sound waves from instruments such as crystal and Himalayan singing bowls, drums, chimes, gongs, flute, and tuning forks. Listeners will feel the impact that the intentional use of sound can have, from offering simple enjoyment and relaxation, to its use as a tool for calming mental chatter, soothing the nervous system, and entering deeper meditative states of being.
