The Palace Project

The New Jersey State Library is providing funding for all New Jersey residents to access the Palace Project.

The Palace Project is an e-reading experience developed by and for libraries. With the Palace app you have access to the library’s digital collections in one place. Enjoy thousands of free books from the Palace Bookshelf as well as titles The New Jersey State Library has purchased through the Palace Marketplace–available exclusively in the app. For more information about the app, click here.

The content on this app includes the Digital Public Library of America-curated Palace Bookshelf of approximately 17,000 items, the perpetually-licensed Boundless (formerly Axis 360) titles purchased by the New Jersey State Library, and items purchased through the Palace Marketplace by the New Jersey State Library. In total, those three collections comprise close to 20,000 items!

The process for signing up for a virtual barcode is completely self-contained within the Palace app, and will require only an email address and authentication through geolocation (anywhere in NJ). We’ve outlined instructions below. For more detailed instructions from Palace, click here.
